Egypt Visa Guideline

Visa rules vary by nationality, so first you need to check if there exists special rule for your case. These guidelines are prepared to help in the visa acquiring process, but it is not official.

Generally, You can apply for a visitor visa either through an e-Visa or by getting a visa on arrival (check eligibility for both options).

A. Visa on Arrival

Eligible travelers can obtain an Egyptian tourist visa on arrival at immigration kiosks at any of the airport terminals.

If you have not applied for a visa in advance need to:

  1. Wait in line at the visa on arrival window
  2. Fill out the visa application form and provide documents
  3. Pay the visa on arrival fee in cash
  4. Attach the Egypt visa sticker to the passport

The visa on arrival must be paid for in one of the 3 accepted currencies (USD, EUR, or GBP).

Only cash is permitted, card payment is not accepted. You should aim to have the exact amount ready to pay for the Egypt visa.

B. E-Visa

An e-Visa is an official document permitting entry into and travel within Egypt. The e-Visa is an alternative to visas issued at the ports of entry. You have to create an e-Visa application at least 7 days before your departure.

Create an account on the Egypt e-Visa Portal via the registration page.

  1. Confirm your account registration.
  2. Login Egypt e-Visa Portal.
  3. Select Apply Now.
  4. Select the type of Visa and read the instructions carefully.
  5. Fill in the application form.
  6. Pay using a Visa card, MasterCard or other debit cards.
  7. Await approval via email, then download and print the e-Visa from your account.
  8. Present your printed e-Visa to the immigration officer at the port of entry.

Visa cost

The type of visa you must have been defined by the Arab Republic of Egypt and Visa Regulations, and relates to the purpose of your travel. Tourism Visa can be issued for single or multiple entries to persons whose nationalities require visas to enter Egypt.
